STEFAN STEENKAMP TAKES ANNA-BELLE TO PARIS

(Words from Stefan)

“Oh Paris je vous aime!”

About 3 months ago a Facebook Fan of ZaraZoo, Jan van Schaik, told me about Anna-Belle, a dress made by Cape Town designer Stefania Morland.   The decision to get involved was a no-brainer…  The concept was fantastic!   Stefania made a dress that would travel the world and be shot by photographers around the globe.

So when I set of for my short Europe trip earlier this month, Anna-Belle came with!  First stop, Paris – Our model, the gorgeous Madri, Swanepoel.  Ohlala!!!!

The moment I first laid eyes on Anna-Belle, her personality was evident…  A free spirit, girly dress with no boundaries.

The Eiffel Tower & the famous Prism at the Louvre museum was the obvious choice to show off Anna-Belle in Paris, a city that oozes Anna-Belle.

Anna-belle in a earth life!

Anna-belle went on yet another wonderful journey with photographer Lambro Tsiliyiannis.

Lambro Tsiliyiannia took anna-belle to a burnt out hillside past bakoven and was intrigued by the starkness of the burnt landscape and the remains of the trees and found that anna-belle in her organic state contrasted and mirrored the landscape in tone,  and mood and became an epitomy of being moved from the human form embodiment she may represent.

Lambro felt that it would be more realistic not to have human forms representing anna-belle as this would detract from her essence.

The second image of anna-belle was taken on the bakoven rock which very much has the power of the ayres rock in Australia, Lambro walked down the rocks with anna-belle instinctively looking for a place that may convey her organic resonance, with the sun three minutes from setting, he saw the most intriguing mixture of anna-belle in the earths elements, tufts of sea grass, sand and the granite rock, the suns last rays touched ever so lightly to expose the subtlety of her design and fabric pattern and texture, she passes a vertable earth life.

Anna-belle and friends at the opening

Lindiwe Suttle and Anna-belle

The lovely Lindiwe Suttle sang for us at our opening. She looked beautiful in one of our dresses.

Thank you Lindiwe Suttle.

This is how I found Lindiwe.

I was looking for someone, a local celebrity to perhaps wear Anna-belle at our opening. So I started searching. We were looking for someone who would suit our brand. So I google’d Lindiwe and I went to her website. I clicked on her music and listened to her first song. Please go and listen to it. It is about a GPS and her tracking someone. What a coincidence. I called her up and she said yes, she would love to be a part of this whole thing. What a small world. Thank you Lindiwe Suttle for making our opening so special. Introducing Anna-belle

Anna-belle (a dress made by Stefania Morland) has a tracking devise attached to her.

She will travel the world, raising money for charity by being the muse for numerous photographers and artists. (please check out blog.enviroworks.co.za for information on the charity we are working with.

She will inspire the creativity of all she comes in contact with.

She will travel freely with a keen sense of adventure. She will be lovingly handed over from one artist to the next, visiting for no longer than 10 days.

The artists chosen by Anna-belle (whether by chance, fortune, circumstance or mere luck) will contemplate and collaborate with her in order to create a single image or artwork of which she must feature in.

This masterpiece created will be uploaded in high resolution to a provided link and will also include a short paragraph, of whatever information the artists deems to be important or interesting.

The above mentioned image and information will then be posed on www.stefaniamorlandblog.com along with an image that will show Anna-belle’s movements – kindly provided via the GPS device accompanying her on all her travels – keeping her safe and letting us know where she is in the world and what she is up to.

After a year of travel and hard work Anna-belle will return to her homeland where she will invite everyone to an exhibition where each and every art work, created by all the lucky-enough artists to come into contact with her, will be auctioned off for charity.

Anna-belle will travel to 4 more cities around the world to exhibit and auction off the addition of 5 prints – graciously donated by the respective artists/friends.

She will keep the world posted with her charity exploits and her sister will be traveling the following year with even bigger plans. So watch this space.
